Bialetti

  • Coffee (For a 6-cup Bialetti pot): 20 grs
  • Brewing time: 4 to 6 minutes, depending on the type of your stove
  • Grind Size: Fine – medium (coarser than espresso, finer than filter)
  • Water: 350 ml

Preparation

  • Grind 20 grs of coffee coarser than espresso size but finer than pour over size
  • Fill the bottom chamber of the Bialetti with boiling water until it is level with the valve, approx. 350 ml
  • Fill the funnel with the ground coffee and slightly level. Screw the Bialetti top tightly
  • Place the Bialetti on the stove over medium heat until you hear the water starts boiling again, then reduce to low heat. Open the lid. The pressure will push coffee up into the upper chamber
  • When the coffee flow begins to look interrupted, close the lid and remove from the stove

Tip to improve your extraction:

If your coffee is too watery, your grind size is too coarse, and the coffee is under extracted. If it tastes too bitter, your grind size is too fine, and the coffee is over extracted.
